Review: The Accidental Prophetess

This was a fun action story with a lot of humour. Natalie has quite the adventure with The Society kidnapping her on the belief that she is a mystical prophet. Natalie is ditzy and reminded me a lot of the Shopaholic series, and a little like Stephanie Plum. She doesn’t always think things through, and that leads to disasters that are really amusing to witness. She does have good supporting friends, which help keep the story from getting too ridiculous. Overall, this was a nice light-hearted read with some frivolous fun.

Review: Forever Grace

It’s stories like this that make me enjoy romance books. This is such a sweet and heartwarming story. I can easily remember it after several months, and several other books, and that makes it special. I love the accurate portrayal of people, both adults and children. Children so rarely appear in romance stories, except as side notes, but in this entire series children play an important role in each family, and this book is no exception. They are realistic and adorable and amusing. The adults are much the same way, with very character having a fully developed personality, complete with […]

Review: Thirty Days of Red

This was a huge disappointment. I picked it up because there were comparisons to Gone Girl, which is an amazing book. This book has very little in common. Everything felt rushed and forced, and there were several character actions and thoughts that just made absolutely no sense. Pretty much the entire book could have been avoided if Liv had acted like an adult instead of a temper tantrum throwing child. It was just a huge waste. I just can’t understand or condone her actions or thoughts.

Review: Bad Will Hunting

I loved this book. Even though I actually read it a few months ago, I still remember it quite well. It was sweet and very funny, and makes for a great light-hearted read. It’s everything I’ve come to expect from this author, which means it’s well worth reading. At first, Ashley is not at all likable. She’s very angry and fixated on revenge, which are not pleasant traits. As the book progresses, she’s still not the most lovable heroine, but she does show enough growth and change to make for a decent read. On the other hand, Sam is lovable […]

Review: Ashes of Life + Giveaway

Before I start my review, I’d just like to apologize to the authors and publisher for missing my original posting date. Thanks for being accommodating with a new date. This book is amazing. I went into it thinking it was going to be really sad, but this turned out to be a beautiful romance. Yes, there were some sad and troubling parts, but the overall feel was hope and love. This caught me off guard, but was the best kind of surprise. This was a powerful story about love, and the power of family, and really highlighted that family is […]

Review: Forever After

Have you ever finished a story and wanted just a little more? This short story does just that. It gives the reader just a bit more time with Gwyn and Gareth, with a fun tale of their wedding. Even though this is a short story, it’s still well developed. I was able to easily slip back into the characters lives, and experience this joyful, and stressful, adventure. I had several laughing moments, and the obligatory cry-at-the-wedding moment. It was a great hour’s read when I needed a little pick-me-up, and made me excited for the next book in the series, […]
