The fiercely private Madeleine-Cora Spencer is the last person who should be on a reality TV show, but when she's shunned by a friend's new wife because "you can't trust desperate single women" her pain and humiliation drive her straight to the "Find Your Prince" dating show's web site.

Armed with date-appropriate clothes and a detailed game plan she arrives to meet her potential loves, only to be dumped... on a remote island with seven ex-boyfriends.

Seven exes! Could this be any worse?

This book is hilarious! It’s Survivor meets The Bachelorette and is more amusing than you’d think possible. It also has some serious, and valid, points about looking at your past choices and evaluating them and yourself, but that’s nicely buried under the entertainment.

One the best things about this book, beside the continual LOL moments, are the characters. There are quite a few of them, but they are all nicely developed. I never mixed up any of the exes, and MC herself is quite the bundle. Everyone’s dialogue and actions were portrayed realistically and believably, even if they weren’t all likable. Don’t worry, most of them were though.

The whole idea of being dumped on a deserted island with all your exes is very scary, mainly because it involves taking a good look at the past choices you’ve made. How many people really do that? I found myself wondering how I’d react in such a situation, and beyond the obvious shudders, it made me think a bit about myself. That is exactly what MC does in the story, but it’s definitely more entertaining to read about someone else doing that than to do it yourself.

If you haven’t read this yet, I’d highly suggest it. This book will make a great beach read, and you’ll certainly appreciate being able to go inside and have a shower and a meal after you finish. Once you stop laughing, of course.
