Book vs Movie banner
When I read Gone Girl last summer, it blew me away. I was totally amazed at the book. So when they announced it was being turned into a movie, I was quite excited to see how it would turn out.

I am very happy to report that the movie is almost as awesome as the book! The movie stayed very true to the plotline and feel of the book, which is always one of the key things of a successful book to movie transition.

As soon as the movie started, I was pulled into it, and even though I knew the plot beforehand because I did read the book, it was still incredibly amazing to watch play out. I thought the casting was excellent and the movie is an all around success.

I’d definitely recommend watching, and reading, this story, and due to the closeness between the two, I don’t think the order is important.

  1. I agree, the movie was a fantastic representation of the book, I definitely enjoyed both… SEQUEL? haha!

  2. I just reviewed the book and movie recently too! I LOVED the book…totally blew me away. I think because of that the movie fell slightly below what I otherwise might of thought about it, even though I did still enjoy it. The movie left out some of my favorite scenes from the book and I thought some of the acting was a little over done. But still really good!

    • The book was so crazy on the mind, it’s hard to translate all of it to the screen. It’s too bad some of your fav scenes weren’t in it, but I think it captured quite a bit of it at least.

  3. I agree, I enjoyed both!
