This has been a very hard week personally. My grandfather was taken to the hospital on Tuesday and passed away on Friday. He’s been sick for several years, but it doesn’t make it any easier. I wasn’t able to work for most of the week, and really wished I could visit Ontario, but it’s just not in the budget right now. Instead, I really did escape into reading.

Books read:
Edged BladeEdged Blade – I liked this book, but didn’t love it, which was disappointing since I loved most of the earlier books in the series.

Echo 8 Echo 8 – This book has a love triangle that is complex and very fun to read. There isn’t really a “who will she pick” angle, just a lot of layers that made it feel unique.

Inherit MidnightInherit Midnight – Awesome! This was such a fun read! It was compared to The Amazing Race and The Westing Game, but it totally reminded me of the movie Rat Race. Just a lot of fun.

Vengeance BornVengeance Born – I was not prepared for the sex scenes as this seemed more like classic epic fantasy, but it was still overall good.

Mistress of My FateMistress of My Fate – This was a fun and entertaining glimpse into the story of how a respectable girl becomes a famous mistress in the late 1700s.

One for the MoneyOne for the Money – So hilarious. This was just the right combination of humour and action to brighten my day.

This was a quiet incoming week with just one upcoming book tour book, Shadows Have Gone, which is the third in a series that I have really enjoyed so far.
