There hasn’t been a lot happening this week, but by this time next week I’ll be visiting in Ontario! I’m so excited for my trip. It’s pretty much always on my mind at this point.
I’ve Got Your Number – With the same nonstop crazy that happens in the Shopaholic series, this was a super fun stand alone story that was very entertaining.
Allison’s Brain – A very remarkable true story accounting of a Canadian woman’s recovery after having brain surgery.
The Impossible Knife of Memory – This was a dark tale about a girl whose father suffers extreme PTSD. It sucked me in and kept me enthralled for the whole book.
Fortune’s Pawn – A space adventure with a strong female protagonist. Sheer awesomeness.
This was a really good week for Netgalley approvals. Between hearing back about a few books, and finding some on my auto-approval list, I seem to have compiled quite a stack of mostly Jan 2015 publications. I tend to enjoy Sarah Addison Allen books, so I jumped at First Frost
. I find it hard to pass up anything UF, so grabbed Owl and the Japanese Circus
as soon as I saw it. The Fourth Rule of Ten
is the next in a series I really enjoy, and I’ve learned to watch for the annual Jan book release with joy. Lastly, What You Left Behind
is outside my usual reading zone, but the synopsis really grabbed me, so I couldn’t resist.
I find it hard to resist the allure of a few Kindle freebies, so I grabbed Kick
and The Moon Dwellers
after thoroughly checking out the summaries and Goodreads friends reviews. I’m trying to be picky with my freebie choices since I already have so many of them.
