Summer seems to be passing in fast leaps and slow stretches. We’ve had both record breaking hot temperatures, and several very cool nights where we actually closed the windows. Not much rain though, although definitely more than last year where we had no rain at all in July.

Favourite book of the month: I had a difficult time choosing my favourite book this month because I read a wide variety of genres to suit my mood. I’m going to go with Evening Stars (Blackberry Island #3) by Susan Mallery. This whole series is so heartwarming and sweet. This latest book in the series has more romance than the previous, but just as much emphasis on family and love.
I had two discussion posts this month, one where I wondered how a book’s pacing affects reading speed and one where I complained about how unrealistic it is to read about characters turning off their cellphones.
