Jan 262014

So the theme of 2014 so far has been “read all the books”! I’ve been on a crazy great reading streak. I read a couple of book 2s, and received a couple of book 3s. So my focus on continuing series is successful so far.

In other news, while most of the country seems gripped in polar vortex #2, our weather has greatly improved. To the point that the local grocery store set up the first outside spring flower display!

Spring flower displays are up in BC!

Books read:
Under These Restless SkiesUnder These Restless Skies – An enjoyable Anne Boleyn story starring the king’s fool and his selkie wife.

Darla's StoryDarla’s Story – A fun short story about Darla’s experience before she appears in Ashfall.

Night BladeNight Blade – Oh god, this book got me right in the feels. I just wanted to cry for Kit.

Trail of DeadTrail of Dead – While the first half of the story is a bit slow, the second half is quite exciting and makes me want more of the series.

Books received:

Sunrise The Third Rule Of Ten Broken Blade

Sunrise (Ashfall #3) by Mike Mullin – I’m totally going to be buying a paperback copy to match the first two I own, but I’m super happy this is available on Netgalley now.
The Third Rule Of Ten: A Tenzing Norbu Mystery (A Tenzing Norbu Mystery #3) by Gay Hendricks and Tinker Lindsay – Another book 3 from Netgalley.
Broken Blade (Colbana Files #3) by J.C. Daniels – You better believe I bought an ebook copy as soon as I finished book 2.

  1. I absolutely LOVE that every time I visit your blog, I learn about books I haven’t heard of before. Under These Restless Skies sounds really good and I’ll be adding it to my TBR (like it’s not big enough as it is, right?:P).

I so need to catch up on reading Mike Mullin’s series soon. I loved the first book, but then I got distracted and side-tracked and I’m thinking I need to re-read the first and then read the next two right away!

Great week in books! Happy Sunday! 🙂

    • Thanks. TBR lists are never too long, lol.

I’m debating whether to reread books 1 and 2 before reading Sunrise. It’s been so long since I read them, but I have such a hard time rereading.
