Oct 202013

This was an average week, without nothing very exciting happening. I read some exciting books, and added quite a few to my tbr pile. It seems that this week was all about series books.

Books read:
Throwaway – This was an unusual love story about an unapologetic prostitute.
Shadow’s Edge – An intense, action filled fantasy story with a likable assassin hero.
Night of the Purple Moon – An exciting natural disaster story that I found quite sad as an adult. I’m guessing that the young MG/YA target audience wouldn’t feel the sadness that I as a parent feel while reading the story.

Books received:
It’s always feast or famine when it comes to adding books to my shelves, and this week is no exception. Nothing for the last 2 weeks, and now this:

Shift (Silo #2) (Wool #6-8) by Hugh Howey
Sela (Leland Dragon Series #2) by Jackie Gamber
Primal Shift: Episode 1 by Griffin Hayes – free download
Torrent (Rust & Relics #1) by Lindsay Buroker
Darla’s Story (Ashfall #0.5) by Mike Mullin

  1. The assassin hero novel intrigued me. I think I’ll pick that one up. Darla’s Story? How have I not heard of this one?! I love Ash Winter! Love Mike Mullin! Thanks for the heads up, Sarah. 🙂

    • The assassin book is actually the second in the series. The first is The Way of Shadows. I’d recommend it, but just be warned that there is a fair bit of violence.

I only found Darla’s Story myself when I was stalking, I mean checking, Goodreads for the pub date of the 3rd book.
