Since the month end was last week, I didn’t do a weekly review post. So this week I have 2 weeks worth of information. It’s been a busy book time during those 2 weeks.

Books read:
Shaman – My full review was posted early this week. This was a long book, but intriguing.

Desert Fire – I was craving some romance, and this clean historical was just the thing, providing a fiery woman and a sweet romance.

Hidden Threat – I needed more romance, and this was between clean and explicit, like soft core, with lots of tension and a mystery that I didn’t fully guess the ending to.

Nimbus – Part 1 – A fun serial story that was accurately described to me as “for people who don’t know they like steampunk”.

Books received:

Her Vampyrrhic Heart by Simon Clark – Netgalley find
Chronicles of Ave – Volume 1 by Stephen Zimmer – present from Tomorrow Comes Media
Hellscapes – Volume 1 by Stephen Zimmer – present from Tomorrow Comes Media

I got a bunch of books for upcoming book tours:

Thunder on the Battlefield: Sorcery edited by James R. Tuck
Thunder on the Battlefield: Sword edited by James R. Tuck
The God Killers by John F. Allen
Stone Guardian (Entwined Realms #1) by Danielle Monsch

I went through my review request emails (which I haven’t even looked at since early July, bad blogger) and found some gems:

Borrowed Lives by Kevin Crouch
The Infinite Within by Michael Drakich
Deep Echoes by Sean P. Wallace
A Feast of Flesh, a Banquet of Bones by Isaac Hobbs
If You’d Just Listened to Me in the First Place… by Barbara Venkataraman
Project Angel by Demetri Scott

Last, but not least, there was a huge community book sale in town yesterday. It was held at the community centre and was massive. The ads for it said there were 30,000+ books, and I’d believe it. It took up a huge gymnasium, and there were lots of readers there. It was very reasonably priced: you bought a reusable bag for $20 and got all the books you could stuff in it. One volunteer there said he stuffed 35 books in one bag during a test to see how many books the bags could hold. I didn’t pick up that many. I got a ton of books for my son, and a few for myself.
Sept 7 books
My books were:
Old City Hall (Detective Greene #1) by Robert Rotenberg
The Other Boleyn Girl (The Tudor Court #2) by Philippa Gregory
The Watchers (The Angelus Trilogy #1) by Jon Steele
The Imperfectionists by Tom Rachman
The Memory Keeper’s Daughter by Kim Edwards
Graceling (Graceling Realm #1) by Kristin Cashore
The Tudor Throne by Brandy Purdy
The Guilty Plea (Detective Greene #2) by Robert Rotenberg
