As part of the blog tour for the Athine Verses series by Shannon McRoberts, I have a character interview with Athine. For your convenience, the interview has been translated from her native Latin into our modern English.

So, Athine, thank you for joining us! Let’s get down to business. We hear that you have the unnatural ability to kill other immortals. Can you tell us a little about that?
Wow, you don’t waste any time do you? No hello, hi, how are you? Just wham, bam, please tell us about death and destruction?

Well, yes, you are a daughter of Ares. He is known to be a bloodthirsty warmonger. I figured you would enjoy starting off with familiar topics.
First off, my father is not always a bloodthirsty warmonger. You humans in this realm have chosen to portray him this way. Have you ever met him? I bet you have not. He is a very caring father and authoritative figure in our world. War just happens to be what he is good at.

Ok, well I apologize if I have offended you. I think we have gotten off on the wrong foot. I see here that you are from a very blended background. Can you tell us about your family?
I am a combination of every important immortal blood line in our realm. On my mother’s side I am the granddaughter of Morrigan and Odin. On my father’s side I am the granddaughter of Zeus and of course the daughter of Ares. Unfortunately I am also the granddaughter of Nike through no fault of my own.

Ah yes, Zeus. It was horrible what happened to him. Can you tell our readers today what happened to him?
I prefer to not discuss that fateful day. However, if your readers want to know they may go and access the tome that has the story in it. It can be found in the section under The Blood Sisters.

Do you have any hobbies?
No, ruling over things and protecting the N’Loron are pretty much full time jobs. I do not have time for these things you call hobbies.

Okay, uhm, well is there anything interesting that you would like the readers to know about you?
I am sure everything about my life is interesting to your readers. I am, after all, an immortal born. I do not think this interview will be long enough for me to list all my interesting tidbits, but as you have already pointed out I can kill other immortal born. I am also the chosen protector of the N’Loron, which is the veil between all of the worlds.

Ah, yes, the veil. But was there not recently a breech where you let several strange creatures from your realm cross over into other realms?
Let’s get this straight. I did NOT let these creatures cross over. A great and powerful evil caused tears in the N’Loron in an ill-fated attempt to usher in chaos.

You mean Nike?
Yes. Nike. While I have dealt with her I am still chasing after Nikeda and when I find her I will destroy her. She is like, what does your culture call it, the Moriarty of my story.
