My tour stop is scheduled to be a review, however I have not finished the book yet. I am halfway through it, and wanted to share my thoughts so far. A full review will be up once I finish.
This is a very unique take on vampires and life after dead. In the first chapter, Samantha dies and awakens as a vampire-like creature named Samoda. She can remember all of her old memories, and has a few new gifts, such as incredible speed and strength, as well as the unique ability to read thoughts.
As she travels through the new land that she finds herself in, she runs into another creature like, a male named Drake. Drake’s character seems a bit one-dimensional, almost like a cartoon as he doesn’t really seem to have a personality or thoughts beyond how much he likes Samoda and wants to mate with her for eternity.
In contrast, Samoda’s character is vibrant and alive and very well developed. The story is told from her point of view, and seems very coherent.
So far, I am enjoying the story quite a bit, although I’m not quite sure what the overall plot is, other than Samoda trying to come to grips with who she is now. Her and Drake are currently on a journey somewhere, but I’m not really sure of the purpose. Hopefully it will be explained further on.Legends of Darkness (Remnants of Life #1) by Georgia L. Jones
