On My Wishlist
Every week I’ll introduce you to a book that’s on my extensive wishlist. Sometimes they are new books, but quite often they aren’t. Let me know if you’ve read it, and what you think. Please also join in and link up your On My Wishlist post each week.

BreakdownBreakdown by Katherine Amt Hanna

Six years after a pandemic devastates the human population, and the subsequent loss of much of the world’s technology, Chris Price finally makes it from New York to Britain to reunite with his brother. But unresolved grief over his dead wife and baby and the horrors he witnessed as he traveled through a changed world have damaged him. He struggles to let go of his past, accept the healing kindness of those around him, and let love back into his life.

I am a sucker for post-apocalypse stories. I am also a sucker for emotional charged stories. Not often do these two elements get combined. But all the reviews I see for this book say these two topics are woven into one complete story that makes for exciting read. How can I not have this on my wishlist?

  1. I haven’t heard of this before, but it looks awesome. I’ll be adding it to my reading list 🙂

  2. Have you read The Road by Cormac McCarthy? If you haven’t, I think you’ll like it. It’s quite similar to what Breakdown is apparently about.

  3. It looks like a good book. I’m more inclined to dystopian reads over post-apolyptic but I think I need to read more.
