Apr 302012

April has come and gone, and while spring is officially here now, the weather has been crazy unpredictable. Summer weather for a week or so last month has lead to a pretty ugly April. There were some nice days, but lots of yucky ones too. Here’s hoping nice weather comes soon to stay.

April was uber busy for me, what with my 30th birthday and moving house. May looks to mirror April with my son’s 3rd birthday and my work location moving to a different building. What’s a girl got to do to have some relaxing downtime?

Books read:
In April – 13
Year-to-date – 54 – I’m currently 5 books ahead of schedule.

Posted in April:
Reviews -13 – I have 9 reviews to write and post still.
Discussion posts – 3 leftover posts and a discussion about Goodreads Groups
Author interviews – Charles de Lint, Mike Mullin, Christine Hughes, Jackie Gamber, Denise Robbins, Bev Irwin, Kim Antieau
Author guest posts – Jami Gray, Shannon Kennedy, Alyssa Lyons, Melissa Groeling, Zrinka Jelic, Mona Karel, Empi Baryeh, Leslie Wright, Debbie Christiana

Challenge Status:
Canadian Book Challenge 5 – 21/13
2012 TBR Pile Reading Challenge – 24/30
Speculative Fiction Challenge 2012 – 28/48 – I increased my goal this month.
2012 Audio Book Challenge – 8/24
2012 Ebook Challenge – 35/100
2012 Self-Published Reading Challenge – 11/50
In Death Challenge – 6 read – no change this month

What’s coming in May?
I don’t have a lot planned. I am going to try to clean up my to-do list and write all my outstanding reviews and post all my completed author interviews and guest posts.

I’m not signed up for any giveaways this month, but there are a few big ones coming in June.

I only committed to 3 book tours that require reviews, so I should have lots of time to read review books. My goal this month is to not increase the number of outstanding review requests. Since I know I have over 10 requests in my email right now, I better get reading if I want to have less than 75 TBR review requests by May 31.

  1. Congrats on being 5 books ahead! I'm also 5 books ahead, but my goal was much less ambitious than your. I've only committed to 52 books for the entire year!

  2. Wowza, you've been a busy girl, Sarah! I'm seriously impressed with all you got accomplished in April. I didn't get nearly as much done as I'd hoped to, but I'm aiming to have a more productive month in May!
