Today I have an interview with LM Aldritch, author of a book that is described as speculative visionary fiction that weaves politics, religion, ancient mysteries, conspiracy theories, physics, the paranormal and sci-fi into a fast-paced, spiritual thriller.
Holding onto those thoughts, sentences or scenes long enough to get them on paper, while they are still fresh and as perfectly formed as they seem at the time. Some of my best writing comes when I’m not actually writing, so thank heaven for sticky notes.
Living each scene through the characters; transported, and at times transformed. There are scenes in the book that still make me cry, and there are concepts that continue to unfold. I would imagine that most fiction writers feel that their work takes on a life of its own.
I love learn. When I’m interested in something, I consume every bit of information I can find. It becomes an obsession. So I guess it was inevitable that I would one day write about something.
I didn’t research the book. I didn’t plan on writing it. But when it came to me, an absolute epiphany, I realised that I’d been researching it all my life. I just had to figure out how to wrap a story around it.
When I read this question, I thought of dreams; how each person in the dream is a reflection of the dreamer. I think that’s true, in part, when writing fiction. However, most of my characters are based on real people: names changed, of course. But the two main characters, the sisters, are unequivocally the two sides of my split personality.
About LM Aldrich:
Like many, I am an ordinary person with several life stories. I have been a management analyst, an environmental activist, and a public relations writer. But in my real life, I am an artist, a seeker, and I have experienced the paranormal since early childhood. While necessity occupied my time, Legends took root in my creative consciousness and eventually manifest—frankly, much to my surprise. I am currently working on another book, as well as a children’s series I started some time ago.
Legends of the Light Bearer by LM Aldritch
In the months leading up to 9/11, the newly elected Senator from Virginia is drawn into a nightmare that threatens her sanity, and then her life. She uncovers a secret so ancient, so complex and profound that it will take the combined efforts of a NASA scientist, a Biblical scholar, a government spy, a paleontologist and Heaven itself to unravel it. Based on ancient and forbidden scriptures, this is the story you were never meant to hear…until it is too late. Legends of the Light Bearer will challenge everything you thought was true, while offering a startling yet compelling new paradigm: Conspiracies and the supernatural are the only true reality, opposing forces in a spiritual war that uses humans as pawns on a chessboard. It is not mere happenstance that we find ourselves on the brink of extinction; economically, environmentally, or in terms of our inhumanity to one another. It is by design. And the one little thing they do not want you to know is that we have the power to defeat them.
