So instead of a regular discuss post today, I thought I would use this opportunity to brain storm some ideas for how prizes will be given out for my 2012 reading challenges.

My original plan is to have a prize every month to be given to one random person who linked up a review. The end of year prizes will be given to one random person from each level who completed their original goal. This is all contingent on how many prizes I line up.

Does this sound like a good idea? Do you have any other idea for prize awarding?

I will admit that the whole reason I am thinking about this now is because I got an email from an author offering up her entire 7 (soon to be 8) book library as a prize for the Self-Published Reading Challenge. How cool is that? I obviously jumped at her offer, but realized that I had no plan yet for how the prizes will work. Hence this post.

I hear you asking which author? Heather Wardell.  Not only is she self-published, she’s also Canadian. And her first book is available free on Smashwords and Amazon. I haven’t read any of her books yet, but you can be sure I will now.

Also, a small note: If you’re an author and want to donate a prize, send me an email, and I’ll do another little happy dance.

  1. Sounds like a good idea to me. But I've never hosted a challenge so not sure what works best. I'm actually tossing around the idea of hosting my own challenge so I'll be interested in hearing what everyone else thinks.

  2. The way I like prizes to be awarded for challenges is each month there is a linky where reviews are posted. Each review posted gives the blogger an entry into the monthly drawing the more reviews posted the more enties the blogger earns.

  3. It also would be really cool if you had a grand prize for the blogger who read the most books in each challenge at the endvofbthe year. I'd say to be eligible he/she would have to do a wrap up post showing all the books read for the challenge and then link it up to your site.

  4. That is indeed a good idea for a giveaway. So everyone who signed up for the challenge will be..ehem..motivated enough to post a review including me. 🙂
