Dakota Frost is the best magical tattooist in Atlanta, Georgia. She’s also a skindancer, able to bring her tattoos to life, a unique ability in a world full of magic. Dakota is brought into a police and Fed investigation to help look for a serial killer who targets extraordinary tattoos. But helping out places her and her friends in extreme danger. Can she survive and outwit the killer before he gets her?

This was an exciting, action-packed story. The plot moves swiftly, and there are a few twists and turns that caught me by surprise. The identity of the serial killer? Shocking.

Dakota is a kick-ass tough chick, who has a surprising vulnerable side. I found her to be a mixture of two extremes that didn’t quite mesh. If either, or both, sides were a little less exaggerated, she would be an amazing character. She was still a worthy heroine with human flaws. Although I could have done without the need for her to find everyone attractive, and to have everyone attracted to her. It was a little unnecessary and distracting.

My favourite character without a doubt was Cinnamon. How can you not love a self-described were-tigger. Yes, T-I-double gg-er. She is so full of life and bounce and mischief. Every scene she appeared in had me smiling at her behaviour.

This is the first in the series, and I can’t wait for the next book. Which is supposedly coming this summer. Yea!
