Dining with the Dollar Diva by Elizabeth Fisher is a book filled with recipes that can be made with items purchased for a dollar or less.
The book is very personal, not just a cut and dry recipe book. There are stories with almost every recipe. It makes for interesting reading to go with your cooking.
I am not sure how she is able to find all the items she uses for $1 though. Maybe the dollar stores around me just aren’t as stocked, I know mine don’t have freezer sections. I’m sure the recipes would still be just as delicious if I spent more than $1 though.
This is definitely a neat cookbook, and really emphasizes the fact that good cooking does not require a lot of money.
